The Founder -
A Legacy of Vision and Philanthropy
Socrates Fanourakis, a distinguished entrepreneur hailing from the Dodecanese Islands, was not only a visionary businessman but also a dedicated humanitarian.

Following a successful career in business ventures across Africa, he embarked on a new chapter, establishing Caravia Beach Hotel. Recognizing the potential of the unspoiled Marmari coastline, he envisioned a resort that would become a landmark of hospitality on the island of Kos. Today, Caravia Beach Hotel stands as a testament to his vision, renowned for its sophisticated design, exceptional service, and integration within beautifully landscaped gardens.
Driven by a deep sense of responsibility towards his community, Mr. Fanourakis established the Captain Fanourakis Foundation in 2011, honoring the memory of his brother, a World War II hero. This foundation serves a dual purpose: providing scholarships to aspiring young minds from Kos and Chalki, fostering their educational pursuits, and ensuring the well-being of the elderly on both islands. Proceeds from the hotel directly support the charitable endeavors of the Foundation, reflecting Mr. Fanourakis' commitment to giving back to the communities that nurtured him.
