On 12 October 2024, the Fanourakis Foundation welcomed students from the Socrates Fanourakis Junior and Senior High School of Halki to Kos for another inspiring educational and environmental visit, continuing a tradition that celebrates learning, sustainability, and community engagement.
As part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people and promoting environmental responsibility, eighteen students, accompanied by two teachers and the Vice President of the Fanourakis Foundation, participated in a special tree-planting event at the gardens of Caravia Beach Hotel & Bungalows.
The annual tree-planting initiative has become a symbolic activity that reflects the Foundation’s vision for future generations. By adding new trees to the lush gardens of Caravia Beach Hotel & Bungalows, students actively contributed to preserving and enhancing the island’s natural environment.
The event serves as both an educational experience and a tribute to the Foundation’s founder, Socrates Fanourakis, whose values of community service, education, and social responsibility continue to guide the Foundation’s work today.
