The Blue Flag is a prestigious award that is granted to beaches from around the world operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

It represents beaches, coastlines and marinas that are known for their quality and environmental sustainability. The criteria for a beach to be awarded this prestigious award are, to name but a few: beach cleanliness, bathing water quality, safety for all, respect for the environment and the preservation of the natural resources.
