Kos Tourism Conference – May 2015
In May 1st to May 3rd 2015, Caravia Beach Hotel & Bungalows hosted the European Tourism Unit / European Centre of Excellence, University of Athens, with the support of Bournemouth University, IFITT (International Federation for Information Technologies in Travel and Tourism), ETOA (European Tourism Association), National Centre for Sustainable Development, organized the Kos Tourism Conference and Spring School
the topic under discussion was
Tourism as a Tool for Sustainable Growth
offering a unique opportunity for those interested to engage in a wide range of topics contributing to sustainable tourism, while bringing together the research community with professionals to discuss cutting edge issues in tourism.
The conference featured renowned experts such as, Professor Dimitrios Buhalis – Director of the eTourism Lab – Bournemouth University, Professor Adele Ladkin – Bournemouth University, Professor Alexandros Paraskevas – University of West London.
The conference combined a Spring school aim to equip students and professionals with leadership skills in areas such as Sustainable Tourism, Accessible Tourism, Agile/Smart Tourism Marketing, Crisis Management and Continuity, Cultural Tourism.
Additionally the event provided opportunities for visiting landmarks of Kos island as well as social networking
